This course is based on the classical Islamic work The Book of Earning (Kitab al-Kasb) by Imam al-Shaybani, one of the earliest Islamic treatises on lawful income, ethical trade and financial responsibility.
Imam Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Shaybani was one of the earliest scholars to write on economic principles in Islam. His work laid the groundwork for Islamic economic thought and offers deep insight into the ethics of earning, work and wealth.
